Crop PDF pages by drawing a box
To crop a PDF with ConvertirDocs, you draw a rectangle over the page preview. Everything inside the box is what will show. You can apply that box to the page you are looking at or to every page in the document.
Applying it to all pages is ideal for books and papers with the same layout on every page. If one page is different, like a wide chart or a cover, crop it on its own.
Good uses for cropping
Wide white margins make text tiny on a phone or e-reader. Cropping them lets the page zoom in and fill the screen, which makes long reports and academic papers much easier to read on the go.
Cropping also tidies up scanned pages with dark borders from the scanner lid, removes printer marks around a design proof, and lets you focus on one figure or table when you want to share just that part of a page.
Important: cropping hides, it does not delete
Cropping changes the visible area of the page (what PDF software calls the CropBox). Whatever is outside the box stops showing, but it is still inside the file. Someone could restore it with the right software, and search or copy may still find that text.
So never use Crop to hide an account number, a signature or any personal data. For that, use Redact PDF: it turns the marked areas into solid black and truly removes the hidden content from the page.
Tips before you crop
Leave a little breathing room around the text so letters are not cut too close to the edge, especially if you plan to print. Check a couple of pages after downloading, because some documents shift the content slightly from page to page.
If some pages are sideways, fix them with Rotate PDF before cropping. Your file is processed in your browser and never leaves your device. Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
Cropping scanned pages and figures
Scans made on a flatbed often have dark edges or a strip of the scanner lid. Cropping those out makes the pages look cleaner on screen. If the scan is crooked, cropping cannot straighten it; for new scans, the Scan to PDF tool lets you adjust the four corners with perspective correction.
To share a single chart or table from a report, first use Extract pages to pull out that page, then crop around the figure. The result is a small PDF with just the part you want people to look at.
