How to rotate an image in 3 steps

  1. 1

Select or drop one or more images you want to rotate.

  2. 2

Choose the rotation: 90° left, 90° right or 180°, and flip horizontally or vertically if you need to.

  3. 3

Press “Process” and download the rotated images one by one or all together in a ZIP.

Your files never leave your device

This tool runs entirely inside your browser. The file is never uploaded to any server: it is read, processed and downloaded on your own device. When you close or reload the page, it is gone from memory.

Photos that came out sideways or upside down

It happens all the time: you take a picture with the phone turned, scan a sheet of paper with the camera, or receive an image in a chat, and when you open it on a computer it shows up sideways or upside down. This tool turns it 90 degrees to the left or right, or 180 degrees when it is completely flipped over.

When the photo is opened, the orientation saved by the camera is respected, so the preview shows what the result will look like. When you save, the rotation is applied to the image itself, so it looks the same in every app, form or social network, no matter how each one reads the camera data.

Many images, one rotation

If you photographed several pages of a document holding the phone the same way, they usually all end up turned in the same direction. Instead of fixing them one at a time, select them all, choose the rotation once and download them together in a ZIP.

The same rotation is applied to every image in the batch. If some need to turn one way and others the opposite way, split them into two groups and process each group separately. No photo editor, and no repeating the same click dozens of times.

Flip like a mirror: selfies and backwards text

The front camera on many phones saves selfies as a mirror image, so the text on a T-shirt, a sign or a logo reads backwards. Flipping horizontally turns it back into what everyone else sees. Flipping vertically turns the image upside down as a mirror, which is handy for reflections, designs or photos taken through another mirror.

You can combine a flip with a rotation in the same step. If you also want to remove edges or fit the photo to a specific proportion, send the result to “Crop image”; if you need an exact size in pixels, use “Resize image”.

Private, free and without a watermark

The rotation happens in your browser. Your photos never leave your device and we keep no copy. EXIF data is removed when the result is created, including the GPS location where the photo was taken, so you can share it without revealing that detail.

You can keep the original format or choose JPG, PNG or WEBP. Supported input formats are JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF (the first frame is used) and BMP, plus HEIC and AVIF when your browser can open them. ConvertirDocs is 100% free, with no sign-up, no usage limit and no watermark, on phones and computers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate several photos at once?

Yes. Select all the images, choose the rotation once and it is applied to all of them. Download them together in a ZIP or one by one.

What is the difference between rotating and flipping?

Rotating turns the image 90° or 180°. Flipping mirrors it, either horizontally (left and right) or vertically (top and bottom).

How do I fix a selfie with backwards text?

Flip it horizontally. Text and logos will read the right way again.

Does rotating reduce quality?

Not if you save as PNG. JPG and WEBP are compressed again, with a difference that is hard to notice.

Why does a photo look fine on my phone but sideways on my computer?

Many cameras store the orientation as separate data, and not every program reads it. After processing here, the orientation is applied to the image itself and it looks the same everywhere.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser and the images stay on your device.

Is the GPS location removed?

Yes. EXIF data is removed when you save, including the location, the date and the phone model.

Can I rotate a PDF page?

This tool is for images. For documents, use “Rotate PDF”, which turns all pages or only some of them.
