Seven kinds of paper
Lined paper, with lines from 6 to 10 mm apart and an optional red margin, is the classic notebook page for homework, letters, journals and handwriting practice. Graph paper, with squares from 4 to 10 mm, suits math, charts, floor plans, knitting patterns and pixel art. Millimeter paper has 1 mm squares with stronger lines every 5 and 10 mm, for technical drawing and plotting data by hand.
Dot paper is the favorite for bullet journals and sketching layouts, because the dots guide you without getting in the way. Isometric paper helps draw 3D shapes and room layouts. Staff paper has music staves for composing and transcribing. Calligraphy paper has double lines for practicing lettering and the size of upper and lower case letters.
For school, home and work
Teachers can print a class set of practice sheets with a line for the student's name and the date. Parents can print handwriting paper for a child learning to write, or graph paper for math homework the night before it is due. Musicians, students and choir directors can print staff paper instead of buying a pad.
You can make from 1 to 10 pages at a time. Gray lines are discreet and save ink; blue looks like a school notebook; black gives strong guides for photocopying or for people who need more contrast.
Exact measurements: print at 100%
Spacing is set in millimeters, so a 5 mm grid should measure 5 mm on paper. For that to be true, print the PDF at 100% scale or "actual size". If the print dialog is set to "fit to page", the printer shrinks the page slightly and the measurements no longer match, which matters for millimeter and graph paper used in technical work.
Choose the paper size that matches your printer: Letter in the United States and Canada, A4 in most other countries, or Legal for longer sheets.
Free and private
The PDF is created in your browser, with no account and no watermark, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere. There are shortcut pages for the most common sheets: printable lined paper, printable graph paper, printable millimeter paper and printable staff paper. If you need a calendar too, the printable calendar makes a yearly or monthly PDF.
Because the file is a regular PDF, you can keep it on your phone or computer and print another copy whenever the notebook runs out, or take it to a copy shop to print a whole stack for a classroom, a workshop or a study group. Heavier paper works well for calligraphy practice with ink or markers.
