Working days, not calendar days

Many deadlines are counted in business days: a delivery that arrives in five business days, an invoice due in 30 business days, a notice period, a reply from an office or a bank transfer. Counting them by hand on a calendar is slow and easy to get wrong, especially over long periods or around holidays.

The calculator counts the days from Monday to Friday between two dates. Turn on "Count the last day too" when the end date itself is a working day that should count.

National holidays of 9 countries

You can also skip the national holidays of 2026 and 2027 for the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Spain or Brazil. The result tells you how many holidays fell on working days and were removed from the count.

Only national holidays are included. State, regional and local holidays, company closing days and bridge days are not, so if any of them apply to you, subtract them yourself. Choose "Weekends only" to remove just Saturdays and Sundays, for example when you work with a country that is not on the list.

The holiday lists were checked in October 2026. Governments sometimes move or add a holiday during the year, so for an important deadline compare the result with the official calendar of your country.

Everyday uses

Online shops and their customers use it to estimate delivery dates. Freelancers and small businesses use it to check payment terms or to plan how many working days a project really has. Employees use it to count the days of a leave or a notice period, and students and applicants to know how much time is left before a filing deadline.

When a contract, a court, a government office or your employer sets a specific way of counting days, that rule comes first. The calculator gives you a quick, clear count to compare with it.

Part of the date calculator

This page is the business days mode of Date calculator, which also counts calendar days between dates, adds or subtracts days from a date and calculates an exact age. Everything is calculated in your browser: your dates are not sent anywhere. It is free, with no account, on phones and computers. To see the holidays of a whole year on paper, Printable calendar makes a PDF with them marked.

A tip for deadlines: count first, then check the end date on a calendar. If the result lands on a holiday that isn't national, such as a state holiday, move it to the next working day yourself.
