Why grouping matters in ImmiAccount
According to the official Department of Home Affairs page “Attach documents to your application”, checked in September 2026, most visa and citizenship applications allow up to 60 documents per person, and partner visa applications up to 100. Home Affairs also mentions attaching a group of documents of the same type, such as statements for different accounts.
Six monthly statements uploaded separately use six slots. Merged into one PDF, they use one and are easier for a case officer to review.
What to combine and what to keep separate
Combine pages and documents that belong together: all statements from one bank, a certificate and its translation, every page of a lease. Keep different applicants' documents in separate files, and keep documents of different evidence types apart so each goes under the right heading in ImmiAccount.
Paper documents can be captured first with “Scan to PDF” on your phone, and photos you already have can be turned into a PDF with “JPG to PDF”.
Merging keeps quality; then check size
ConvertirDocs copies pages without recompressing them, so merging doesn't lower quality. Bookmarks from the originals may be lost. It's 100% free, with no sign-up, and runs in your browser, so your documents never leave your device.
A merged file adds up the sizes of its parts, and Home Affairs lists a limit of 5 MB per document. If you're over, send the file to “Compress PDF” with a target just below 5 MB.
Mistakes to avoid
ImmiAccount doesn't accept encrypted or secured PDFs, and most tools, merging included, need protected files unlocked first. Use “Unlock PDF” if you know the password. You can't remove documents after submitting, so open the merged file and check every page and the page order before attaching. Keep your own copies, because you can't download them from ImmiAccount later.
