Screenshots that need to be documents
PNG is the format of screenshots. You take one to save a payment confirmation, a booking, an error message, a chat or a page of results, and later someone asks for it “as a PDF”. Converting the PNG keeps the screenshot exactly as it is, sharp text and all, inside a document that any office or system will accept.
Several screenshots can go into one PDF, in the order you choose. That's handy for proof of a sequence of steps, a bug report, a set of bank transfer confirmations or a conversation that spans many screens.
Diagrams, charts and graphics
PNG is also the usual export format for diagrams, charts, floor plans and slides from design tools, because it doesn't blur edges. Putting them into a PDF makes them easy to print, attach to a report or share as one file. Choose “Same as image” for the page size if you want each page to match the graphic exactly, or A4 or Letter if it will be printed alongside other documents.
Wide graphics fit better on a landscape page. Leave the orientation on automatic and ConvertirDocs chooses the best fit for each PNG.
Transparency and quality
PNG files keep their dimensions when they're placed in the PDF, so details stay as crisp as in the original. If a PNG has a transparent background, check the result before sending, especially if the graphic was designed for a dark background; on a white PDF page it will appear against white.
If you'd like the PNG to be smaller before converting, “Compress PNG” reduces its colors to a palette of up to 256, which often makes screenshots much lighter without visible change.
Scanned graphics saved as PNG, such as a black-and-white drawing or a page from a scanner app, convert just as well. If you'll want to search or copy their text later, run “OCR PDF” on the finished document; it adds an invisible text layer without changing how the pages look.
Large PNGs and file size
Full-screen screenshots on high-resolution displays and large exports can be heavy, and a PDF of many of them adds up. If the result is above a form's limit, pass it straight to “Compress PDF” and set a target size, or compress the PNGs first and then convert.
