ImmiAccount's rules for attachments
According to the official Department of Home Affairs page “Attach documents to your application”, checked in September 2026, documents can be up to 5 MB each. ImmiAccount doesn't accept encrypted or secured PDF files, and most applications allow up to 60 documents per person (100 on partner visa applications). Photos of documents are accepted if they're clear and show all the information.
Digital photographs have their own range, between 70 KB and 3.5 MB, and the facial image must be a JPG. Don't run your facial photo through PDF tools.
How ConvertirDocs gets your PDF under 5 MB
The engine recompresses only the photos in the PDF, the part that makes scans heavy. Text and vector graphics stay untouched and selectable. You see the size before and after, and if it can't reach the target it tells you, instead of handing you an unreadable file.
It's 100% free, with no account. Compression happens in your browser, so your passport, bank statements and certificates never leave your device.
Group similar documents to save slots
Because of the per-person document limit, it helps to put similar papers in one PDF, such as six months of statements from one bank. Combine them with “Merge PDF”, then compress the merged file here if it goes over 5 MB.
Common mistakes and failed attachments
Secured PDFs from banks or government websites are a frequent cause of failed attachments. If you have the right to use the file and know the password, “Unlock PDF” removes it; Home Affairs also suggests printing and scanning a new copy. Remember you can't remove documents after you submit, and you can't download them from ImmiAccount later, so keep your own copies.
If an attachment fails, check the size, the extension and whether the PDF is secured, then compress or unlock it and try again. A PDF that won't open on your own computer should be re-scanned.
