Lined paper whenever you need it
Out of notebook paper the night before homework is due? Need a matching set of sheets for a class, a worksheet or an exam? Want to write a letter by hand and keep the lines straight? Printing your own lined paper solves all of these, and you choose exactly how it looks.
Lined paper is useful far beyond school: handwritten letters and thank-you notes, journals, lists, meeting notes, practice pages for people learning a new alphabet, essays for handwritten exams and drafts for writers who prefer pen and paper.
Choosing the line spacing
Spacing goes from 6 to 10 mm. Narrower lines, around 6 or 7 mm, are close to the college ruled paper common in the United States and suit adults with small handwriting who want more lines per page. Wider spacing, around 8 or 9 mm, is similar to wide ruled paper and gives more room, which is easier for most people. The widest spacing, 10 mm, helps young children and anyone who writes large or needs more room between lines.
The optional red margin line on the left side gives the classic notebook look and leaves space for the teacher's marks, numbering or notes. A line at the top for the name and date makes the sheets ready for class worksheets and handouts.
Color, paper and printing
Gray lines are discreet and use little ink, so the writing stands out. Blue looks like a traditional school notebook. Black gives strong guides that survive photocopying and help people with low vision. Choose Letter for the US and Canada, A4 for most other countries, or Legal for longer pages.
Print the PDF at 100% scale, or "actual size", so the spacing measures what you chose; "fit to page" shrinks it slightly. You can make from 1 to 10 pages per PDF and print it as many times as you want, at home or at a copy shop.
Free, with no account
The PDF is created in your browser with no sign-up and no watermark, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere. For other rulings, the same tool makes graph, millimeter, dot, isometric, staff and calligraphy paper. For handwriting practice with double lines, choose the calligraphy option in Printable paper.
Because it is a regular PDF, you can save it on your phone or computer and print a fresh set whenever the stack runs low, or send it to a copy shop for a full class. Teachers often keep two versions ready: one with wide spacing and a name line for younger students, and one with narrower lines for older ones.
