What Pix is and who this page is for
Pix is Brazil's instant payment system, created and run by the Central Bank of Brazil. People pay each other from their bank apps using a "chave", or key, which can be a tax ID number (CPF or CNPJ), a phone number, an email address or a random key. Pix only works with accounts at Brazilian institutions, so if your business is in another country, this tool won't help you receive money.
If you sell in Brazil, or have Brazilian customers who pay into your Brazilian account, a Pix QR code lets them pay from their bank app without copying your key by hand. It is common at shops, markets, food stalls, home services, independent professionals and any counter where people want to pay with their phone.
A static Pix QR code in BR Code format
The code follows the BR Code format defined by the Central Bank of Brazil, including its check digit, and is built from your key, the recipient's name, the city and, optionally, an amount and an identifier. It is a static code: you can print it once and use it for as long as your key is active, because it doesn't expire.
Without an amount, the customer types how much to pay in their app, which suits a code left on the counter. With an amount, the value is already filled in, which suits a product or service with a fixed price. The identifier is an optional reference that can help you recognize the payment in your statement.
What this QR code does not do
It is not a dynamic billing code: it doesn't create a unique code per sale, has no due date or interest, and doesn't tell you when someone has paid. ConvertirDocs doesn't connect to your bank and can't see payments. To know whether a payment arrived, always check your bank app or statement, not the receipt the customer shows you.
Dynamic charges, with automatic confirmation or integration with a sales system, are offered by banks and payment companies. This page also doesn't give financial or tax advice about how to charge customers.
Before you print it
Check your key character by character: a typo can make the payment fail or show a different recipient. Make a test with a banking app and confirm that your name and the correct key appear before putting the code on display. If you change your key, make a new code.
The code is created in your browser: your key and details are not sent to any server or stored. It is free, without sign-up, and ConvertirDocs takes no fees.
